Buy 2020 1 oz American Gold Buffalo (.9999 Pure)
Both coin collectors and precious metal investors have made the Gold Buffalo one of the most sought-after annual issues from the United States Mint.
Introduced in 2006, American Gold Buffalo coins are the only "four-nines" fine (i.e. 99.99% pure) gold coins offered by the mint each year.
They have also attracted attention for reprising the beloved designs from the Buffalo nickel, minted from 1913 to 1938.
Each Gold Buffalo coin contains 1 troy ounce of pure gold by weight (actual gold weight, or AGW). Its legal tender face value is 50 Dollars.
GOLD BUFFALO DESIGN
James Earle Fraser's original designs are adjusted to fit the larger size of the Gold Buffalo compared to the Buffalo nickel.
A Native American brave is pictured facing right on the obverse. This portrait is actually a composite of three different chieftains. He wears a feathered headdress and his hair is braided. The inscription "LIBERTY" appears against the rim to the right. The year-date "2020" is placed at the shoulder near the bottom-left corner of the design.
The reverse features an American bison, or buffalo, facing toward the left. Inscriptions of the mottoes "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST" flank the buffalo. The bottom rim includes the legal tender denomination "$50" and the coin's composition, "1 OZ. .9999 FINE GOLD." A reeded pattern is used for the edge.
To this day, Gold Buffaloes remain the U.S. Mint's only 24-karat gold coin produced annually.
These coins are popular as bullion investments and modern collectible coins alike. Buy your own 2020 1 oz American Gold Buffalo (.9999 Pure) from Gainesville Coins!
