South Korea's first silver bullion series has been a hit with collectors, and now KOMSCO (the South Korean Mint) has introduced a new ten-ounce version of its Chiwoo Cheonwang series.

Each of these medallions is struck from .999 fine silver and bears a denomination of "10 Clay," a new concept introduced by KOMSCO for its bullion offerings. In total, each piece contains 10 troy ounces of pure silver by weight.

The reverse side depicts Chiwoo Cheonwang, the legendary warrior who achieved god-like status in Korean and Chinese mythology. He is shown in full body armor while riding horseback. His sword is ready to strike, coming directly at the viewer. "CHIWOO CHEONWANG" is inscribed to the upper-left of the rim.

On the front, the face of the supernatural being Do-ggae-bi is shown. He is said to ward off evil spirits, so this mask is often found on the outside of traditional Korean architecture. Rim inscriptions include "2018 FINE SILVER 999," the issuing nation "REPUBLIC OF KOREA," the denomination "10 CLAY," and the KOMSCO logo.
