Another large mintage, the 1923-D Peace dollar was the second-largest mintage from the Denver Mint. Once again, dies were used past their service life, even though a wide die spacing meant that many 1923-D Peace dollars suffer from weak strikes.
The Value of a 1923-D Peace Dollar
A common date mintage, most 1923-D Peace dollars went straight into storage. The large number of survivors means that well-struck pieces are available to the determined collector, but die breakage and weak strikes mean that the 1923-D is scarce in high Mint State grades.
