The 1891-O Morgan dollar is a coin where supply has always been enough to meet demand. This is more testament to the atrocious production standards of the coin suppressing demand, than to its mintage of nearly 8 million coins.
The Value of an 1891-O Morgan Dollar
The 1891-O Morgan dollar is considered by some to be the worst-struck coin of the entire series. Not only is the strike flat and lifeless, but frequent die clashes and bag marks mar the coins' surfaces. Well-struck examples are truly rare. NGC and PCGs together count 200 1891-O Morgans in MS65, and only four in MS66.
