She wears a cockade of corn and cotton, the two main crops of America in the 19th century. The reverse show the American Eagle in a wreath of laurel. The reverse is where we find the difference in design between this round and the original Morgan dollar: the purity of ".999 Fine Silver" is inscribed between the outstretched wings of the eagle, and the face value of One Dollar on the lower border is replaced with "One Troy Oz."
