The reverse design shows Miley Busiek's symbolic imagining of a bald eagle family. The father eagle returns to his nesting mate and their two eaglets carrying an olive branch, the traditional symbol of peace, in his talons. The national mottoes "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST" flank the eagles. The issuing country "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" appears across the top rim. At the bottom rim, inscriptions for the weight and denomination read, "1/2 OZ. FINE GOLD~25 DOLLARS."
