The Belgium 20 Franc Leopold II Gold Coin is minted from 0.1867 troy oz of 90% pure gold. Each coin weighs 6.45 g and will be dated between 1867 and 1882. Each one of these coins is legal tender in Belgium and has a face value of 20 Francs.
On the obverse of this elegant coin you will find a right-facing portrait of King Leopold II. His title is inscribed along the left side of the rim, "LEOPOLD II." To the right is the text, "ROI DES BELGES," or, "King of Belgium." At the bottom is the date of issue, which will vary, from 1867 to 1882.
The reverse shows a large depiction of the Belgian Coat of Arms. On the bottom, the denomination of 20 Francs is struck. Arched across the top of the rim is the phrase, "L'UNION ON FAIT LA FORCE," meaning, "Strength in Unity."
