American Silver Eagle Coins
More Silver Eagles are sold each year than any other silver coin in the world! The Silver Eagle coin has been produced annually by the U.S. Mint since 1986. Its beautiful Walking Liberty design, originally created for the half dollar in 1916, is struck in 99.9% pure silver.
American Silver Eagle Proofs
In addition to the regular American Silver Eagle, a proof version of the coin is minted specifically for collectors. Proof coins have highly reflective backgrounds that feature a mirror-like effect, which creates a gorgeous contrast with the raised areas of the coin design. Proof Silver Eagles are produced in much lower quantities, making them more difficult to find for sale.
Silver Commemorative Coins
The U.S. Mint has been issuing silver commemorative coins since 1892. These coins celebrate important historical events or organizations in American history, and are collected all over the world! The original commemorative program was active until 1954 before it was discontinued for almost three decades. Since 1982, commemorative coins have returned for collectors to enjoy.
America the Beautiful Silver Coins
The U.S. Mint produces 90% silver proof versions of its American the Beautiful quarter dollar coins, as well. These special coins pay homage to the many national parks and wildlife preserves around the United States. In addition, the Mint also issues 99.9% pure silver versions of the same designs that come in huge 5-ounce sizes.
